Capri Fun

My daughter and I drove to Wattisham Airfield in Suffolk in convoy in our Honda S2000s. The sun shone, the roads were dry and our route took us through picturesque wool towns and villages and lovely countryside. We very much enjoyed that part of the day.

She had been gifted a driving experience. One of the supercars/exotics paid for was not available and there wasn't a great choice of alternatives. She chose a fifty-year-old Ford Capri, her age too. I remember the three litre being top of the range and it being described at the time as king of the cutters up. This car was not a stock Capri but modified with a V8 engine. She said it smelt very petrolly.

She also drove a couple of Ferraris, preferring the 458 Italia over the California. Her other car was The General Lee from The Dukes of Hazzard. We were amazed by the amount of people at the event. The track was very short, uninvolving and not visible to spectators.  Parking was a long way from it and the facilities extremely basic. We got fed up with the long waits between her drives as we had to stand in the cold. We usually love automotive events but this wasn't for us.

I was delighted to find clumps of cowslips in the grass. They appear as yellow lines, owing to panning, in my image. These feature in the Coronation Invitation next to the wren. :)
