Saved too late?

Reminded me of a song.  NOT a particular favourite, or anything, I just know it exists.  
I repotted it, (The Kumquat, not the song) looked at it, and thought:-
"Is that all there is?"  

The stuff it was potted in was vaguely reminiscent of a poor quality Joe Public's garden soil,  pebbles/gravel included.  I can't believe a reputable source sort of feeling.
