Two Bs

Today’s Tiny Tuesday theme is 'anything starting with B'. Thanks MaryElizaR for hosting.

This morning I visited the Lake Ainsworth heathland and photographed a Plague Soldier Beetle (Chauliognathus lugubris) feeding on the flower of a Dwarf Banksia (B. oblongifolia). Most writers give this plant the common name Fern-leafed Banksia. I can't see anything very ferny about the leaf. When I blipped it a year ago I called it Dwarf Banksia (used by Wikipedia) which I'm sticking with.

My title today is an understatement - this species of insect also goes by the common name Banana Bug.
