Easter wreaths

These are wreaths made by the grandchildren at a workshop at the Museum of Richmond. The education officer leading the session first explained and showed them examples of lots of types of wreaths through the ages…from Greek Gods wearing wreaths, to laurel wreaths used for Olympic winners before medals, harvest, Christmas etc etc. Also because Richmond is the home of the Poppy Factory she showed them some of the poppy wreaths still made there each year.( although the smaller poppies are made in a factory elsewhere)

They had fun using a variety of materials which they stuck on. Some of the older children made quite different wreaths using feathers and complicated cut outs too.

We had lunch at a Pizza Express ( I have not been to one for years…not overly impressed but a good value childrens menu) and came home on the bus.

Then some cycling practice near our house and tea before going home. Their parents had a day out visiting the Hockney exhibition plus lunch.
