Queen's View...
Loch Tummel and Schiehallion in the distance.
It started out a lovely day here (it's raining now) so we decided to make the most of it and head to Pitlochry Dam for lunch. Not been back there since we took Blip Pal Patricia there last summer, so we were overdue a visit (views from the cafe balcony in extras)
As this was to be our main meal of the day D had a very lovely pepperoni pizza and I had a bacon, brie and cranberry panini. We shared sweet potato wedges with feta and pomegranate glaze. Delicious.
The weather was still lovely when we headed off out of Pitlochry to follow Loch Tummel to Queen's View, where we stopped to get some photos (it's the law :-) There's a lovely cafe and gift shop there but both were closed. No idea why. It's the Easter holidays for goodness sake! Sometimes I despair of Scottish tourism.
There are some benches outside the cafe and three woman and one man were sitting on them, quite separately, not interacting, just staring straight ahead. They were there when we arrived and still there almost 25 minutes later when we left. It was hilarious! Looked as if they were waiting for the cafe to open...or for a bus! Maybe they were living sculptures :-)
Drove home via Aberfeldy and the Sma' Glen. A much better route than the A9 which had a massive queue of traffic heading south due to the major roadworks just north of Perth.
Back home in time for D to have an hour at the driving range at Gleneagles before heading of to his singing rehearsals. He had to return to the driving range though as his phone fell out of his golf bag. Thankfully someone handed it in.
In the meantime I've started a second crochet project. Another cardigan, this time with chunky wool. It's a much simpler design but will enjoy working on both patterns. Nice to have two projects on the go. Saves boredom setting in.
Just remembered I am getting my boobs squished in the carpark at Tesco in Perth at 9.30 tomorrow morning. Better go find my appointment letter!!
