Big Al in the woods

Blipping today was soooo easy! Son Joe and I took Albi to a bluebell wood while Charlotte worked at home. Albi was raised a city dog but now they’ve left London for York, staying at mine en route, I’ve been taking Joe and Albi to some of the wonderful Wildlife Trust woods nearby. Albi LOVES the freedom from city streets, the chance to run, the different smells and textures, endless sticks to find and long snooze at home afterwards. Talk about a dog’s life…

The wood is almost changed out of all recognition from last year - it’s mainly ash and the dreaded die back has arrived. Consequently the tree felling is significant. It’s an opportunity too of course but quite sad to see such a change. I wonder how the extra light now fall in the forest floor will affect the swathes of bluebells.
