Graffiti On The Train

On the railway arches actually, but that’s sort of train related! We’ve come down to Chester for a few days, whilst we’ve still got the flat to stay in. Not much left to shift in terms of furniture, etc. so we’re just going to have a few days chilling and catching up with friends and family. Might be a bit of retail therapy involved as well!
Spent most of the day in the car so wanted to get out for a walk before tea. Of course, Sod’s Law meant that it started raining almost immediately, albeit not heavily at first. But just as we approached the railway arches next to the racecourse, the heavens opened so we had to take shelter for a while. Which gave me a chance to study the graffiti. It didn’t look quite as I remembered it, so I looked back through blip and realised I’d taken a photo of the same spot almost exactly a year ago. But back then it was predominantly a blue and yellow wall with the words “F**k Putin” written on a white cloud.
The current artwork is all about mushrooms, but you can see elements of the original underneath. Whether it was changed due to complaints about the rude word, or if the Ukraine war is no longer considered “relevant”, I don’t know. If it is the latter it is a little disappointing as the conflict is still ongoing with little prospect of a resolution anytime soon.
Hopefully the weather will get better over the next few days so we can go out and play at being tourists…
