Inquisitive.
He wasn’t backwards in coming forwards. Not sure if thinking we’d food or he was protecting his territory. The deer here often pull back, but he didn’t. A couple of other young males were facing up to one another and had found a muddy bit of the field.
The main routes and paths between the fields here provide visitors with views across the landscape and opportunities to see the Belted Galloways, Highland Cattle, Red Deer and Hebridean and North Ronaldsay Sheep. The viewing shed gives closer access to view the animals, today it had pens with new born lambs. It’s also used for calving cows and as extra winter housing.
Ridiculously, the establishment is subject to local authority cuts, it’s planned to close the shed in 2023 and cutback in general. Shameful. Another case of knowing the cost of everything and value of nothing.
A lot of talk in our family about rugby today again. League decider tomorrow, younger sons team playing in Glasgow. They’ve worked hard and trained well. All to play for.
