Belle Epoque
These lovely tulips are growing right beside Grace’s door. They are called ‘Belle Epoque’.
I’ve been eyeing them up for a blip all week. The sun has been out today but you can see they are still dripping from the plenteous recent rain. They don’t seem to have suffered too much.
She’s always managed to grow huge tulips. Her others are mainly large red ones. She’s not pleased about this as she ordered apricot ones. The same happened last year and she complained so they replaced them and the same thing has happened again! She has brought some of the ones planted in pots in as she doesn’t feel they go with the other plantings. They are certainly striking.
She and John went running this morning whilst we got breakfast for the girls. We had a brunch when they got back.
They were heading off to a garden centre this afternoon for some plants for their newly dug vegetable patch. Looking for award to seeing those and getting reports on the progress of the cress seeds.
We headed home, no problems and dry all the way and quite a bit of sunshine, let’s hope this is a change for the better.
Unfortunately when we got in we found that one of our power circuits had been off, no idea how long. Had to clear out every thing in the fridge freezer compartment. Not much left in the fridge so that was ok and the freezer in the garage thankfully had everything still frozen.
We’ve loved spending so much time with the girls. (Jude was back in her swimsuit as we left - she’s such a character.)
May see them briefly when they head up to the NW highlands at the end of May.
