Doon the watter!!

In the years before the package holiday business took off it was common for Glasgow and Paisley families to go to Millport on Cumbrae for their "fair fortnight" as the holidays were known as- Glasgow the last fortnight in July, Paisley the first fortnight in August.

Two Millport institutions were the Ritz Cafe and the bike shops. Today we had a coffee in the cafe and cycled round the island, not I hasten to add on this contraption. This is the "conference bike" so you can have a mobile board meeting cycling round the island.

The weather was perfect and we had a leisurely two hour cycle round the 10 mile circumference of the island. Great day out!!
