The Winners!

For many weeks there have been four swans on the pond in Maxwell Park ….. a breeding pair and two juveniles. The adults tried intimidating the youngsters and keeping them confined to one of the reedy areas of the pond but I noticed today that the adults must have conceded because they have gone and the youngsters can now paddle freely where they will.

I do hope they stay long enough to have at least one lot of cygnets but it could be two plus years before they are mature enough.
