Beneficence
In homage to two of my blipfriends, all this useless beauty for his journal name and chrisbevan for his use of quotes, a quote from Vladimir's Nabokov's story, Beneficence:
"I became aware of the world's tenderness, the profound beneficence of all that surrounded me, the blissful bond between me and all creation; and I realised that joy...breathed around me everywhere, in the speeding street sounds, in the hem of a comically lifted skirt, in the metallic yet tender drone of the wind, in the autumn (or in this case, spring) clouds bloated with rain. I realised that the world does not represent a struggle at all, or a predaceous sequence of chance events, but shimmering bliss, beneficient trepidation, a gift bestowed on us and unappreciated."
This is the same tree of which I blipped the berries last year. I'd LOVE to know what it's called...
