Almost gone
There was a haar in Edinburgh today. In fact, photographs on the Pentlands Hills Users Facebook group indicated that it was not that the hills were swathed in cloud, but rather there was a spectacular inversion and wonderful colourful sights for those above the cloud line.
Down here, all was grey, so I went BW with the photo, which is mostly intended to illustrate, as does Mr A's blip from another angle, the increasing intrusiveness of the new build just across the street. While I think the block that Mr A photographed has more or less finished growing, I think there are many more floors to go on this one. The only plus point is that it hides the Biscuit Factory and may muffle the sounds that periodically emerge from it. Hey ho. Let's not get too agitated about it. At least we have somewhere to escape from it all.
It didn't stay grey all day. The haar burned off, and up in Edinburgh it had turned into a beautifully bright and sharp, but cold, afternoon. I know, because I had to go out into the quad to have my photograph taken with yesterday's dinner guest who had been doing a presentation elsewhere in the School.
Another busy day capped off by a chilly ride home on the e-bike.
