1986 Monday — Three Muskeeters

One summer long ago (summer of 1986), it was my unique privilege to “follow” along as two responsible grown men, Mitch Maynard and Mr. Fun, became youthful adolescents, tossing care to the wind for two weeks to ride their bicycles every day and pitch their tents every night. San Francisco to home in Southern California.

For them a boyhood dream. For me, a fly on the wall? No! Just one of the guys. An adventure the likes I had never known. California’s Highway 1, lots of fun.

Riding and adding pedal power for two weeks on the back of our tandem bicycle with Mr. Fun on the front is something I’ve never regretted.
