Augusta Celebrity

What a way to start our new life in Augusta.  We walked along the beach towards Flinders Bay to see if we could spot the Southern Elephant Seal who has been quite the celebrity over the past couple of weeks in Augusta. The only reason I was able to get this image of the majestic creature was because of my very reliable Sony RX10 with its 600mm zoom lens.  The seal is being monitored by National Parks and Wildlife and they have taped off the area to ensure that the seal is left alone.  It must have been difficult to keep the hoards away over the Easter break.

It has been a glorious day today as Mauzee and I really do start our new life in this amazing region of Australia.  

We had a very long flight from Brisbane yesterday and by the time we arrived in Augusta late in the afternoon we felt it only fair that we had dinner at our favourite pub in town and it also happens to be the only pub in town :).  We're looking forward to a few days to recover before our Removalist buddy Gordy arrives in town.
