Coney Acre...
I drove over to Rickling to see how the bluebells were looking in the woods at Coney Acre. This is a surviving ancient woodland mostly of hornbeam coppice with standard oak and wild cherry trees... This old stump is of a tree that was felled many years ago growing on the medieval earthworks that divided up the woodland.
The bluebells are just getting going and I guess that by Sunday they will be spectacular... (extra)
