An early start to beat the crowds. There were no cars in the parking area at White Moss when I arrived.

I went there to check on the bluebells. There were a few in the middle section as I walked up through White Moss Wood and some small areas on the fellside. I continued my walk to the far end of Loughrigg Terrace with good views across Grasmere. Everything seems so much greener than a few days ago.

I took the same route back and in the wooded section spotted a Peacock butterfly. That’s my first butterfly sighting of the year.

Then home for more gardening. Dug two more plants out and replanted one after removing the Spanish bluebells that were growing up through it. Then I planted the three perennials I bought last week. More flowers are needed to fill gaps.

The usual dilemma of which photo to post. I decided that the paddle boarders shot was different though my original choice was the trees top left in the first extra.
