More divine weather

After dinner a friend and I went on a walk on the C&O canal and saw a pair of herons, a goose, a baby snake, and a not-baby-snake. On our way back we saw a family with their cell phone light on the baby snake. The poor thing realized it was surrounded and made a beeline for the vegetation off the path, scaring everyone because the father was in the direction of that beeline. He did a beautiful job of hopping out of the way. I don't think it was poisonous. 

But it was great warning, because before we got to our parking lot I saw the wavy line of what was probably another snake in the path. I pulled out the light on my cell phone. Yep. But not a baby. I think it was a copperhead. Those are poisonous. It was exciting. 

A Russian bomber jet accidentally bombed a Russian city. No one was killed. 

Absolut Vodka halted exports to Russia after the 2022 invasion, but then resumed. Top bars and restaurants in Sweden angrily pulled the drink from their shelves. Absolut has now stopped exports to Russia again. 

Mikhail Vasiliev was a Russian priest famous for saying that if women in Russia bore more children it would be easier for them to send their sons to fight. He died in the war in Ukraine on 6 November.
