SETTING MOON

This morning as we were preparing to go on our walk my husband called me to look at the setting moon, a large yellow orb close to the horizon. My photos could not do it justice but this image will remind me of that moment. By the time we left for our walk the sky was pink, heralding in the new day prior to the rising sun. As we walked back through the veld, the mountains and surrounding hills were tinged with shades of dusky pink and mauve. This magic lasts for a few minutes and gradually fades into the normal grey greens and ochre browns of a sunny morning in the Karoo.
