Men Singing Cante

We were blessed by some Cante Alentejano at the Adega at lunchtime today. Used to be most lunchtimes at weekends, but Valente, the leader, stopped coming during the pandemic, and not heard it much since. A lovely, friendly atmosphere.

Unfortunately, a contrast to the ranting, visiting Padre at church. Incredible. Surely, humility is called for. Couldn't help thinking that Jesus would have been far more at home in the Adega than in the church. Is that heresy?? 

Gratefuls:
- listening to Deb doing the Livestream from our home church at 8:30, and Rob helping us pray well for the awful situation in Sudan
- the superb scent of purple chinaberry tree blossom in the main square as we walked through; picked up berries to plant here, but then discarded them when we found out how poisonous they are
- sitting outside in the afternoon, eating strawberries and chocolate
