Changing the guard
We started digging out the wildlife pond today. I want to keep the soil and put it to other areas of the garden. A beautiful day today and the bed linen dried outside quite quickly. The pair of great tits are very busy providing plenty of food for their offspring,
A local walk this afternoon and we arrived at White Bridge just after the swans had swapped over. One of them was turning some of the eggs and they were both doing some housekeeping on the nest materials. We also arrived as they were opening the channel that flows below the new road bridge. It’s beginning to look very attractive and for the first time we spotted two grey herons, one looked more mature than the other one.
My father in law said that my mother in law was due to be taken home by ambulance today but then he was annoyed because the hospital rang to say there were no available ambulances so she would be dropped off tomorrow morning at 8am. I suppose I will have to get up, he said. Neither of them appreciate the state of the NHS, they have been really fortunate in their later years.
