The Enigma of Garlic
Alexander McCall Smith was speaking at the Hexham Book Festival today.
What he has to say is always amusing and we laughed a lot. I like the way he also drops in quite serious topics. Today he talked about vengeance and forgiveness.
The garlic remained an enigma because he went from anecdote to anecdote and there was no time to discuss his most recent novel.
If you have heard him, you will know that he often starts to laugh at the jokes before he reaches the punchline.
When I asked for a photograph, he graciously agreed and moved to make the light more manageable.
Margret gave me a lift to the talk and delivered me to the Village Hall just in time for choir. We had a lively rehearsal.
Then home to see Sharon who had come round.
Tonight it was a talk from Trai Anfield, former weather presenter turned professional photographer, speaking at the Hexham Photographic Society. She showed wildlife safari images from dawn to dusk.
I have a headache, but I think I am just tired!
