Ups and Downs

Up with the lark. I did my first Breeding Bird Survey of the year today. Despite the fine conditions, it was hard work. It involves several long uphill pulls and some wet, slippery downhill sections punctuated by some very tricky stiles. The highlight was a pair of Grey Wagtails on the stream by the packhorse bridge, as well as the woodland section with its bluebells now in full bloom.
