Acorn Bank PW#9
Today Mr P walked from Dufton via Cross Fell, (the highest hill in England outside Cumbria;) to Alston ( the highest market town in England) ; 32km in glorious weather. I explored Appleby, Temple Sowerby and Alston but spent most of my time at the National Trust property Acorn Bank. The property has the Trust's largest selection of medicinal herbs and more than 100 local apple varieties currently carpeted with old varieties of daffodils. This shot was taken in the herb garden. A Portuguese Quince surrounded by sweet woodruff. I liked the shadows. The extra shows the house from the haha and two shots of the daffs. Another extra is a sample of other sights along the way
