Daddy duck?

Our pond is quite a way from the house but yesterday a pair of slightly bewildered-looking ducks were on our patio, right near our back door. They flew off before I could get my camera but today I caught the male sitting on top of our duckhouse.

No sign of any ducklings yet but I'm hoping he's keeping watch over a nest!
