Backlit Poppy

The baby and I accomplished absolutely nothing today except for lots of snuggling with Captain Cat and then a nice dinner with her mama. I grabbed just a few photos at the end of the day on the way to dinner. This Iceland Poppy is near the end of it's flowering and is turning from white to pink. I think that means it has been pollinated. It was backlit and far more color showed with the backlight.

Today, I give thanks for the day I was given, a long, slow day with nothing pressing, a sweet and tolerant bunch of pets - Captain Cat, Tonks kitten, and Joe pup (and the unfriendly Helen cat), good news from Tax and Rev (the state version of the IRS), and flowers that I am lucky enough to begun seeing at the age of 57.
