Peacock Butterfly

Yesterday I took an hour out for a trip to our local nature reserve, but it being a bank holiday it was closed so I ended up doing a couple of circuits around Forest Park. Which was fine.

I repeated the exercise this afternoon, and the reserve was open.

I have seen few butterflies yet this year. But today this peacock butterfly landed on a wooden railing to soak up its warmth and that of the sun. My first butterfly image of 2023.
