Mirror mirror

Mirror, mirror on the wall.....

This green-veined white butterfly landed on the window this afternoon. I thought she looked incredibly beautiful with her delicate colourings strongly reminding me of stained glass windows. So.....blip!

I am saying female because she has darker markings on her upper wings than the male and would have recently hatched from a chrysalis having over wintered here, liking damp meadows and bogs. Tewkesbury is probably perfect in fact with the flat water laden land!

These don't harm the garden as they eat garlic mustard and wild members of the cabbage family which is a bonus as they have two broods and could get through a lot of food!
