midwife crisis

Up early after enthusiastic face licking from the dog who was delighted to wake up on the bed in between us ! Leisurely morning coffee and watching the still sea in Ballyvaughan Bay.
Lots of exploring the area, including an old castle with beautiful little holy well beside it and filled with all the usual holy characters, including plenty of nativity visitors and Bambi too ! Great walk on the beach with full rock pools and an abundance of life, colours and shapes in them.
Highlight was walking part of The Burren Way, the sun came out and it was remote and stunning, we saw 3 people (and a dog called chicken) during the entire walk . The wild orchids and gentians were everywhere , we heard cuckoos, willow warblers , black caps and all the usual regulars - I don’t think this is a busy trail, nature is flourishing there.
Stopped for lunch at a tiny pier and watch 2 hardy families swimming . Then to Fanore beach, Mike took Basil and I read , then the rain started and stayed , so we came home ! The wonders of a camper !
