Bone clinic and great meal later
8:00 am in Vincent’s Hospital for my visit to the Bone & Joint Clinic. Super efficient this morning. Registration, x-ray and chat with the doctor all done and dusted by 9:15! Rather disappointing but not unexpected news. The elbow is healing, but slowly. I’m to continue with the sling and go back in three weeks for another x-ray. Hopefully that will be the end of the sling’s days. In the mean time, I’ve been given some exercises to do – bending the elbow, twisting the wrist, revolving the shoulder …
Carl picked me up at the hospital afterwards and we went back to his place for some rest and relaxation. I caught up on sleep with a little bit of a nap in the afternoon. After some discussion we decided to go out for a meal in the evening. We opted for The Greedy Eagle in Glasthule. Last time we’d been there they’d only just re-opened and weren’t yet geared up for pub grub. They are now, but when it came to decision time we decided to pass on the Bar Bites and asked about a table in the restaurant area. The super staff went to check, came back with white-smoke news and showed us to our table. They’ve done a really nice job of adding on a conservatory-style restaurant area. Even better, they’ve got some real talent in the kitchen. We had one of the best meals in ages. Really, really good. Streets ahead of and much more reasonably priced than the desperately disappointing Reighleys.
