The Crime Scene

This morning I discovered this scene of devastation in the garden. Yesterday there were eight large healthy Allium flower buds growing happily at this spot, the most we’ve ever had. Usually only one or two come up, last year there were none. But this morning I found four had been snapped off and the leaves crushed. 

I can only think that we had a visitor in the night, a badger, a fox? At first I thought it had just plowed its way through the flowerbed, but looking at how crushed the leaves are I’m wondering if it bedded down here. On looking at my photo, I noticed some droppings. If anyone has any ideas on who the vandal might be, would be very interested to hear.

Feeling rubbish today, had to drop out half way through my hospice zoom art session this morning, and postpone this afternoon’s hospice zoom grief counselling session, my first after waiting nearly seven months. Real shame...
