Liberation Tea Dance
Next Tuesday 9th May is the day Guernsey celebrates being liberated from German Occupation. Every year a Tea Dance is held a few days before for those who’s lived through the war, were born in the war or evacuated. Colin and I don’t qualify but you can if there’s room you can go along with friends or family who are. We went with Colin’s sister and her husband. The whole event is free and is sponsored by Specsavers whose headquarters and founder live in Guernsey. Judge Rob Rinder was the compare. We decided to dress for the occasion. Lots were in red, white and blue. A lovely afternoon. See extras for the gym hall which was converted for the occasion. About 800 of us there!!
