Royal purple

The colour purple has long been associated with royalty so the colour of these tulips seems, quite accidently I can assure you, appropriate.  I photographed them quickly in the front room before putting them on the hearth and replacing the vase with appropriate red white and blue items.
Tomorrow we are going to a street party at daughter #2's but it does not look as though the weather will be on our side sadly.
