Coronation Sponge Cake

I am neither royalist nor republican, but sit in the murky middle (J is definitely royalist). I do however very occasionally like a piece of sponge cake.

We watched the coronation on TV. Impressive in parts (I liked the music), absurd in other parts (some of those weird “traditional” elements seem anachronistic in 2023), and there was a flavour of extravagant fancy dress about it which isn’t my thing. But lots of people love the pageant and ceremony.
