Tennessee Vacation ...

... Day 1.

We were checked out of our hotel by 8:30 this morning and were on the road to Tennessee.  Our resort is in Fairfield Glade, TN so today's drive time should be about 5 hours ... not terribly long.

On the way to the resort were these falls ... Ozone Falls to be exact.  It wasn't too far out of the way to visit here and we had time before our check-in time so why not!?!  The walk to the top of the falls was easy enough but sadly the trail to bottom wasn't something I could manage.  We were surprised (although not entirely!) to see this young couple and their dog standing at the top of the falls.  When we first arrived they were actually in the water!?!  Crazy!  That's a bit too dangerous for my tastes ... but to each their own I guess.

After leaving Ozone Falls we continued to the resort in Fairfield Glade ... which is in Crossville, TN.  We arrived way before the 4:00 check-in time but still tried to check-in.  Our unit wasn't quite ready yet and were told they would call us when it was ready.   We didn't want to leave the property as we were a bit tired from driving so we waited it out.  At a little after 4:00 (normal check-in time!) we went back in to see if our unit was ready yet even though we weren't notified that it was.   It still wasn't ready and when I voiced my displeasure they worked something out and we were given a unit.  

From there we drove to our condo and cleaned out car of most of the travel bags.  We were quite hungry by this time as this resort in on Central time and our bellies are on Eastern time!  A lovely restaurant was suggested and that's where we had dinner ... Red's Ale House.  The restaurant was extremely LOUD but the food was delicious.
