VE Day

We went to the service at the war memorial, where schoolchildren read out the names of the villagers who died for France in the war. Then the mayor helped the children place the flower arrangements on the memorial, and we all went into the Mairie for a glass of Pineau.
You can just see Mr F’s leg and crutch sticking out beyond the child with the flag. He got lots of sympathy from all the other old soldiers today!
I think a little weeding is needed this afternoon.
