4 Star To No Star, Marden
I was so glad today was a Bank Holiday. One less work day is always, but always, a Brucie bonus! So, today we just took it easy with a a short run and then a micro trip to Marden for a swift pint at a pub with the rather wonderful name of The Unicorn!
Marden is one of those slightly upmarket commuter villages with a train station, pubs, a couple of coffee shops, hairdressers, large imposing church and a serene sense of itself. We had two pints of Birra Moretti which were north of £13, which was more like Central London prices. Still, we enjoyed the drink and the relaxed atmosphere.
Today's image is of a long abondoned petrol station near the pub - apparently 4 star petrol was last available in the year 2000!
