Snowy Against The Wall, Maidstone

I finally tested negative for Covid yesterday - it's been a bit of a long haul. For the first few days it was the headaches, leg cramps, sore throat and the endless repeating dreams that knocked me for six. It was like having a bad case of the flu minus the fever. As the days passed and the second line of each test got fainter, it was the waves of exhaustion that kicked in. I often had to go back to bed in the early afternoon to try to sleep it off.
Today it was back to the usual weekly shop and then the obligatory alcoholic beverage in town afterwards. I spotted this image in the car park on the way to the pub and immediately saw Tintin's most trusted friend, Snowy, in this wall where the plaster had fallen away to reveal this cartoon character!
It turns out Herge, the  Belgian creator of Tintin and his many adventures, was a regular at a cafe where the owner had a white wire fox terrier and that this dog became a major inspiration for Snowy. The French translation of Snowy is Milou (the name of the dog in the original cartoon) which is an abbreviation of Marie- Louise (which happened to be the name of Herge's first girlfriend).
Apparently, Snowy was chosen for the English translation due to the dog's colour but also because it was a five letter word that fitted the speech balloons!
Tomorrow it will be back to a full week of work and I've a feeling it's going to be a struggle to get to the end. Luckily, my brother has been through the exact same thing just two or three days before me so we are just helping each other get through it.
Extra is called "Empty of Energy".
