Globe artichoke

My globe artichoke plant's well and truly dead - a horribly rotten root is all that's left after the cold and wet winter.

Luckily a friend recently gave me 'Green Globe' plants she's grown from seed. I've planted one in the spot where the old green artichoke plant used to be for the time being but I'll move it to my bed at the front in a couple of weeks.

It's time to try something different here - maybe flowers rather than veg? Tulips followed by dahlias?
