Breaking Up Is Hard To Do

The last morning is always hard.  The crew are stripping out my bunk for someone else, really.  It took three helicopter trips to get us all out.  I was in the last load and could watch the boats groceries being delivered as the back load for the helicopter.  They order huge quantities of everything and it all gets stowed away most efficiently.  The rain was settling in so there is always the thought we might have to stay because the helicopter can't get in.  The extra is Bev climbing aboard the helicopter and a shot through the helicopter window of our co skippers.  I got to sit in the front seat and the pilot was good advising when turbulence was coming.  We were heading into northerly wind and rain.
On the ground in Te Anau the rain really set in for the afternoon.  We made a dash to a restaurant for dinner.  Most of us chose pasta because we felt the menu couldn't compare with Markos and Gemma's meals.
Another adventure over but it was so enjoyable.  I was happy with my photography which is unusual for me as I always see the faults.
