IN GOOD COMPANY

The last time I was at Woking Crematorium was 20 years ago to say goodbye to beloved C. Meles sang for him, and Jan was there too. C had also said goodbye to his parents, his first wife and their baby son there too, at various times. Today we said goodbye to Jan - no ceremony, just tributes and memories from family and friends: smiles, love, damp eyes and wobbly voices and a couple of Jan's favourite pieces of music.
I noticed this plaque on the outside wall - I'm sure it wasn't there when I've been before. There are some unexpected names there.

There wasn't a wake so I headed over to the other side of town for a coffee with an old friend and then back on the road for another long, slow but uneventful trip home.
