My New Friend

I met Marlene at the gym. She was a regular there, she was always there. I admired how hard she worked on the elliptical machine. We talked one day, then another day and realized we had a lot in common. Soon we were exchanging emails and phone numbers. We met for lunch and then she and her husband and Jeff and I had dinner together.

Marlene is retired. She is an artist but pretends not to be one. She is always smiling. She is into health foods, exercise, hiking, traveling. I find the process of developing friendships very invigorating to feeding the garden of our souls. This is a back blip of yesterday.
