Thai Festival

For the first time in a few years, we had sunshine for the Thai Festival at the little village of Stedham. Very pleased for them, it's all done for charity, the Mudita Trust. Mudita is the restauranteur at the Hamilton Arms in Stedham. She began the charity in 1992 to help abused, distressed and underprivileged children in Thailand. She supports several schools, career centres and safe houses, providing education to girls and boys who might otherwise be sexually exploited due to ignorance. More information and picture of Mudita in a previous blip HERE

We've been going to the festival for at least 12 years and love it every time. The food stalls are first class with a range of starters (Thai fish cakes, tempura prawns etc) and mains (Pad Thai, Penang Beef etc) and Thai coconut cakes and mango for afters. It still seems a little strange sitting on a village green in rural Sussex with Thai culture all around, but it fits in beautifully and is very popular. There are demonstrations of Thai boxing and dancing. These beautiful young ladies kindly posed for us after their fan dance. As you can see, the sun was dazzling.
