13 Years of Sammy

A breezy day, overcast, mist hanging around the south mainland.  Much the same this evening.

Slept well, a tad longer than expected, but finally got going.  Washing out and other chores done, then headed out for a run in the boat.  Plenty of tirricks around now, a sound of summer.  Met friend Julie for walkies in the afternoon.  I've been working in the shop this evening, and a busy night.  Defo need a pint to unwind, hopefully the pub will have Eurovision on too.

A happy day with Sammy, 13 years ago today since he arrived in Shetland, and being a rescue, we say it's his birthday too.  He's about 15 years old now.  Poor Sammy's day started off bad, with a trip to the vet, and then fell off the marina walkway, but we we arrived on the isle, he soon warmed up by the peat fire.  A cuppa with Wilbert and Christine Fullerton, and their daughter Shona.  Sammy has been a lucky dog over the years.  Plenty of walkies and seen more of Shetland than a lot of local people.  He continues to love his walkies and life, long may he go on for a good few years yet.  Sammy inside the old Oxna house, Isle of Oxna.
