Twelve Years with Sammy

A breezy morning, and rain.  The rain finally eased, along with the breeze about 4pm.  The skies cleared, the sun came out and clouds drifted by.

Up early, and headed out walkies with Sammy after breakfast.  Popped by Laura's on my way to work.  I've been working late shift in the airport today, and a steady day of passengers.  Mostly been meeting and boarding flights, and short delays.  More walkies with Sammy, and then feet up for the night.

Twelve years today, since Sammy first stepped foot in Shetland, hopefully he's never looked back.  What a bundle of joy he's been too, not too naughty.  Being a rescue dog, we've never been sure of his early days, or even his age, but the vet aged him to be 1½-2 years old, so today we also celebrate his 14th birthday.  He's starting to show signs of age, poor eyesight setting in, hearing not so good (although he can still hear food), and not able for the big hill hikes we used to do.  In his 12 years here, he's probably seen more of Shetland than a lot of folk here, and still plenty of energy to see more.  Sammy on his morning walk, Castle Street, Scalloway.
