Across the ages
We said a final farewell to the paterfamilias in his village of Winster in Derbyshire. He was 98. His long and full life was celebrated at a packed village church; his contributions to teaching, local politics, voluntary service and morris dancing were described with the profoundest gratitude; his unfailing kindness, fairness and sense of humour were affectionately recalled by everyone who came to honour his memory.
Here we are on our way to the church: his three children, five grandchildren, five great-granddaughters, and other assorted kin and hangers-on.
