While in Derbyshire for the funeral dog-walking took some negotiation. These old squeeze stiles formed by two closely spaced vertical stone pillars are characteristic of the Peak District and provide a reminder of how skinny were the original users, mainly the lead miners who walked miles to work or local folk who took the most direct route between villages, never mind the gradient.
