The beholder's eye

Ancylis badiana

We have no water!! Southern water has a problem with one of it's pumping stations and most of West Sussex from Pulborough right up to Horsham where we live is without any water at all! Of course this is a nightmare for homes and businesses alike, with pubs and restaurants having to close.
Luckily we are fairly OK especially since Southern Water kindly dropped off bottled water to our doorstep saving me from having to queue to get some.
Anyway I needed to wash something so I went to see Charlii as Cowfold wasn't affected, and while I was waiting for the wash to finish Ethan, Rosie and I went over to the nearby fields to look for insects and spiders. The farmer has left a field margin this year so all good and there was lots to be found.
This little micro moth Ancylis badiana caught our eye, a fairly common but none the less pretty little thing.
So as not to leave the spiders out I have added a shot of a male Cucumber Spider in extras - check out his pedi palps!
