Ducks out of water

A fresh, breezy morning on our dog walk.  

Saw these ducks leaving the market place.  If the head left they can get to the river running through colleges' grounds or head right to reach reach the town's part of the river. 

Heard today that one of the Labour city councillors has resigned from both the council and labour party membership.  She states she's unhappy with the local/national party's direction.  It's only a couple of weeks ago that she was elected.  The city council have already issued a notice that a by-election will take place in 35 working days.  It could be an interesting time.
