Who Are You?

Two days ago I found this caterpillar on a stick in the yard. I picked up the stick and moved it to a safer place. I checked this morning and he's still there and alive.  I'm wondering has he chosen this stick for the chrysalis stage? I tried to identify him, but had no luck. I'll keep checking to see what is happening.
